Description:
Familiar with the Salsa Symphony! Roberto Sierra's "Salsa on the C Line"? Roberto Sierra, known for his "Salsa Symphony (TROY 942)," was born in Puerto Rico. He studied under Ligeti in Germany and is a popular composer whose works have been commissioned by the BBC Proms and many symphony orchestras. This disc is a collection of his works for cello and piano, all of which are energetic and well blended with elements of contemporary and Latin American music. The title of "Salsa on C" is a parody of Bach's masterpiece, but the content is a poignant piece of Caribbean folk salsa seasoned with the spicy spices of Bartk and Ligeti. Tobu Land System
