Description:
COLOSSEUM was formed in 1968 by the late Jon Hiseman (dr/perc) and Dick Heckstall-Smith (sax), and is one of the most famous bands representing British Jazz Rock. This is one of the "LIVE IN CONCERT" series, and is now available on CD and remastered 3LP 180g heavy vinyl. The album features the first official appearance of the Canterbury: University of Kent concert in February of the same year on Disc 1, and the 2009 4CD compilation "MORITURI TE SALITURI" on Disc 2, which was released on the Universal label in Europe. Disc 2 contains the March '71 Brighton & Manchester shows, which were included on the 2009 4-CD compilation "MORITURI TE SALUTANT" released by Universal in Europe and the '71 Live disc "LIVE" released by Esoteric Recordings in the UK in 2004, respectively. Although the songs on this CD overlap with those on the previously mentioned '71 Live disc, the band's ensemble and each member's performance are superb, as they were recorded at about the same time as the band and the Live disc, which is considered one of the best British Rock live discs of the 1970s.You can enjoy listening to the difference of the performance depending on the atmosphere and groove of the concert venue, and since all the recordings were made by mobile recording, you can enjoy the high quality and vivid sound as good as the official version, which is truly "Live behind the scenes". This is a must-have and must-hear live disc for British Rock fans as well as the band! The master was remastered by Eroc of GROBSCHNITT, who is also in charge of a series of reissues on the same label as the CD of the same title, and this Live disc includes an interview with the band member Dave Greenslade (keyboard) by music journalist Chris Welch. Includes an insert with commentary by music journalist Chris Welch, including an interview with member Dave Greenslade (key).(From the manufacturer's information)
